NEWH Student Leadership Networking Event

I recently had the opportunity to attend a Student Networking Event. This was such an amazing event and I met so many new people. It was also special since I was able to reunite with a bunch of my old friends from school. I learned so much about the Hospitality Industry and different products that are new out on the market. The pictures below are some that were taken from the event.

In the image above, we were talking to Danny from Electric Mirrors.
This is my good friend Marilyn Russell-Grant. She has started her own Interior Design business and wish her all the best. =)
Here is a picture of Tesha, Alana, myself and the Sunshine Chapter President, Katherine L. Adams. Check out the NEWH Organization.

Simply Elegant

David D'Imperio Chandeliers

His work is just breathtaking. He spent many years as a teenager exploring the coral reefs off the Florida Keys. As you can tell the fascination with sea life and organic form highly influenced his work. Enjoy!

Orchis Chandelier

Hydra Chandelier

Stella Chandelier

My ultimate favorite from David is his:
Blue Bird Suspended Sculpture
This piece would definitely bring a sense of tranquility to a space. =)

If you enjoyed these please check out the rest of his collection @ David D'Imperio

Got a Puzzle Floor?

What a great way to bring texture and color to a space and still have the rich feeling that wood flooring brings.

Definitely a conversation starter! =)

They come in different colors as well as different shapes to fit your style and needs.

The installation is as easy as it looks. No glue and or nails. It's just like putting a puzzle together. The only reason a buyer would think twice would be the cost since it is usually $15 per sqft. Yikes!

So if budget allows I would definitely recommend puzzling a child's room and or any play room, child or adult. =)

Projects, Projects, Oh My!

As some of you may know I will be graduating at the end of October. Yay! For the past three years I have produced many great projects, several of which were hung in the hallways at school. =) As I come to the end I am instructed to pick three projects and put together a Professional Portfolio.

The first is my Hospitality Design project: El-Bustan Moroccan Cuisine.
I was instructed to design a restaurant that could seat up to 130 people. This was to include bar seating, two, four and six/eight booth and table seating, four areas which were handicap accessible, waiting area with host stand, and if applicable a patio seating area. I used a lot of rustic textures to create that outside feel in the inside. Brought the Moroccan feel with color in the fabric as well as mosaic tiling.

Here are just a couple of draft renders...

The second is my Medical Design project: Pediatric ENT Clinic.
I designed a space that not only would bring comfort to the children but to the parents, doctors, nurses and rest of the staff. I brought vibrant colors as well as fun playful textures in not only the furniture materials but in the colorful murals in each room.

Here are just a couple of draft images:

The third is my Senior Design Project: Thailand Fashion Museum.
I was given the opportunity to completely gut out an existing shell and design the interior. The museum was located in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It was designed to not only function as a Historic Fashion Museum but also as a Cafe/Dining and where local fashion artist can display there work. I used subtle colors in the museum section but brought a lot color and texture into the Cafe/Dining and Local Artist area.

Here are just a couple of drafts images:

I hope you enjoyed viewing my work as I had fun designing it. =) Please stay tuned for more of my projects and final renders.

Ciao!!
